Adriana Butu is the Manager - Intellectual Property Office at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), a government owned organization. She established the intellectual property function at DEWA back in 2017 and since then she is driving the IP Strategy of the organization, ensuring that all its assets are protected and enforced.

Prior to her current position, she headed the Trademark Department (MENA region) of Dennemeyer & Associates, a top tier IP law firm, based in Luxembourg, with offices in more than 20 jurisdictions worldwide, playing a key role in opening the Dubai office of the law firm.

Before moving to Dubai, she held different positions at Dennemeyer & Associates Brasov Office and owned a private IP law firm in Romania.

Her main field of specialization is intellectual property law covering advisory, prosecution, enforcement and litigation. She holds a master degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from Universidad de La Rioja in Spain and during the past 13+ years she successfully combined her legal expertise with her leadership skills in different organizations across multiple jurisdictions.
