Anwal Al Khatib is an experienced legal professional with over 28 years of expertise in private practice and in-house roles. He possesses diverse knowledge in litigation, consultancy, and corporate affairs. In January 2023, Anwal joined Salik PJSC, the toll gate operator in Dubai, UAE, as the Chief Legal Counsel and a member of the Executive Committee. He is responsible for providing strategic legal counsel and ensuring the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Anwal played a significant role in Salik's listing on the Dubai Financial Market and its exclusive operation of eight toll gates.

Prior to Salik, Anwal was the Executive Vice President for the Legal and Compliance Department at Sukoon (formerly Oman Insurance Co. PSC). In this role, he restructured the legal and compliance functions for greater efficiency, centralized operations, managed litigation, and acted as the Corporate and Board Secretary. He also facilitated the implementation of online customer solutions and prepared the company for VAT adoption.

Anwal’s extensive experience includes his tenure as Head of the Legal & Corporate Secretarial Department at Tamweel PJSC, where he oversaw legal restructuring and the development of Sharia-compliant financial instruments. Additionally, he served as Group Legal Director at Depa Ltd., managing acquisitions, joint ventures, and subsidiary incorporations.

Earlier in his career, Anwal worked at Al Khaleej Sugar LLC, focusing on corporate law, commodities trading regulations, and maritime law. Starting his legal journey in Lebanon, he moved to Dubai in 2003, bringing with him a wealth of expertise. Today, Anwal continues to contribute to Salik’s legal excellence and operational success.
