Barrett Spraggins

Barrett Spraggins, a Partner at Kennedy Lenart Spraggins LLP, is a seasoned intellectual property (IP) expert who understands the critical importance of a robust IP strategy in today’s competitive business environment. He helps clients develop IP strategies that not only protect their technological innovations but also drive business success. He specializes in creating and managing global patent portfolios, focusing on defense, monetization, and litigation. He also brings extensive expertise in IP evaluations, patent landscapes, freedom to operate analysis, technology transactions, patent licensing, and litigation support. His diverse industry knowledge spans Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), cloud computing, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, electrical power and battery systems, sensor design, and more.

He holds a background in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University and works across various industries and technologies. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including serving as Vice President of the Florida Intellectual Property Alliance (FLIPA), a member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Intellectual Property Alliance (TXIPA), and Vice Chair of the Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee for the American Bar Association Section of IP Law (ABAIPL). He also holds leadership roles within the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and serves as the U.S. representative to the Digital Economy Standing Committee for the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
