
Michael Fuller
Michael Fuller is a partner at Knobbe Martens in San Diego and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in intellectual property, particularly in molecular biology and computer science. He frequently speaks at industry events, having been invited to present on artificial intelligence in biotechnology at the 2024 Intellectual Property Owner’s Annual Meeting and at the USPTO’s Biotech Customer Partnership (BCP) and Technology Fair meetings in 2023.
Known for his skills as a deal-maker, Michael regularly negotiates agreements for the sale or licensing of valuable technologies. He works closely with clients to develop strong, enforceable IP portfolios in diverse fields such as autonomous driving, lithium-ion batteries, medical diagnostics, web systems, DNA sequencing, gene amplification, pharmaceuticals, and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.
His background includes graduate-level work on software and biologic analyses of cholesterol carrying apolipoproteins to advance the understanding of atherosclerosis and heart disease. After completing his graduate studies, he co-founded several high-tech startups that focused on personal computer motherboards and custom software and services for businesses.
