
Rory Radding
Rory J. Radding is Partner at Maschoff Brennan LLP, bringing over 45 years of experience as an IP strategist and first-chair trial lawyer. He has litigated a wide range of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants across various industries, including LED lighting, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, avionics, and consumer products. As a registered patent attorney, he has also prosecuted patents in chemical, biotech, and computer-related fields.
He has served as lead trial counsel in several federal trial courts across the U.S. and has represented clients before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for multiple circuits, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. He also has extensive experience representing clients before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in sectors like chemical catalysis, video games, and electric switches.
In addition to his litigation expertise, he advises clients from large corporations to startups—on global intellectual property strategies, including prosecution, licensing, and enforcement. He also provides guidance on cross-border transactional matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and technology transfer. Prior to his legal career, he worked as a pharmaceutical chemist at Wellcome Research Laboratory and as an environmental chemist at Union Carbide Corporation.
